Nestled on it's own private cove, the Laguna Suite is our luxury suite, complete with Jacuzzi bath in the oversized bathroom and silent remote-controlled air conditioning.

Hand-crafted wood double doors open from the bedroom to living room area which is completely fronted by glass sliding doors and glass louver windows. Opening on to a private porch, a step down leads to an expansive wood deck directly on the water.

From the queen size bed, with the doors open, there is an open view across beautiful Laguna Bacalar. The magnificent deck is an ideal place to view the reflections of the setting sun from the west, casting hues of oranges, pinks and lavenders onto the water. No problem in missing a sunrise -- if you feel like staying in bed, just open the bedroom doors and sunrise will happen in front of your eyes.

In the living room, a wicker settee and chair with bright cheerful upholstery reflects the blues of the laguna, the yellow of the sun, and the soft rose of sunset. The rest of the furniture is hand-made of native hardwoods.

Like all of our casitas, this one comes equipped with convenience refrigerator and hot pot for tea or coffee. As with all of our accommodations, our beautiful breakfast buffets and romantic candlelit dinners are included.

First named the "Honeymoon Suite," it changed immediately to the "Laguna Suite," for we knew many more people than recent newlyweds would want to stay there. Surrounded on three sides by coconut palms, fruit trees, bougainvillea and other ornamental plants, with the remaining side fronting onto the water, our latest luxury accommodation, with it's sense of privacy and tranquillity can be what you've always hoped to find in a tropical vacation get-a-way.
